Fifty-two candidates for this year’s Miss Korea title showed off their nation’s Hanbok traditional dress in Hanoi on the evening of July 16.
Their show featured 50 traditional Tangui dresses, which were worn by women under the Chosun reign on major occasions.
They joined RoK artists in dancing, flute and violin performances.
In particular, the presentation of Vietnamese traditional costumes by 10 RoK women made the programme more significant as the two countries are celebrating the 16th anniversary of diplomatic ties this year.
Before arriving in Hanoi the delegation of beauties visited Ho chi minh city and Nha trang city in south central Khanh Hoa province.
All proceeds collected from the event, co-organised by the Korean Association and the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will be donated to help sick children in Vietnam
