An exhibition of Malaysian arts opened in Hanoi on September 3, its first stopover in a tour of several Southeast Asian countries.
The international fine art community’s high appreciation of Vietnamese artists and art works is the main reason of the decision to make Hanoi the first destination for the exhibition themed “Transition”, said Malaysian organiser.
At a press conference in Hanoi on September. 3, Shireen Naziree also affirmed that Vietnamese and Malaysian arts have many similarities, so the exhibition will contribute to promoting the two countries’ cultural exchange.
On display are works from a collection of Malaysian fine arts on the contemporary society and relations with ASEAN member countries in its development, especially since Malaysia gained independence.
The exhibition, held in Hanoi from Sept. 3-30, will also include lectures on the history, current activities and the role of Malaysia’s culture and fine arts in relations with other ASEAN member countries.
After Vietnam these art works will travel to the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. (VNA)
