French pianist delights Hanoians

French pianist Michel Bourdoncle will entertain music fans in Hanoi with a concert entitled ‘This Surprise’ at the Hanoi Opera House on the evening of July 13th. The event is to mark France’s National Day, July 14th.


Playing along with this famous French artist is the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of French conductor Clair Lavacher, who has been Music Director of the Excellent Orchestra of the Paris National Dance and Music Academy since 2002.

Pianist Michel Bourdoncle has given performances in many of the world’s most famous theatres such as Carnegie Hall in New York (US), the Conservatory of Moscow’s Big Hall (Russia), Verdi in Milan (Italy), Poly Theatre in Beijing (China), and Salle Gaveu and Chatelet Theatres in Paris (France).

The concert will include Symphony No. 5 by Beethoven, Concerto by Maurice Ravel and The Girl from Arles by Georges Bizet.
